Board of Trustees

Comprising the Head of School and Clerk(s), this committee is responsible for planning meetings, retreats, and board functions.

Supports Trustees to ensure they can do their best work for FSA, suggests candidates for Board vacancies and creates processes and systems for onboarding new Trustees. Monitors performance of the Head of School and his/her management of the staff. Reviews benefit package in consultation with Finance Committee.

Assures the financial well-being of the school.

Coordinates with the Director of Advancement to solicit funds for the Annual Appeal and to help seek funds from foundations and other outside sources for operating support, capital projects and endowment.

This Committee was formed during the 20-21 school year by combining the work of two long-standing Board Committees, the Quaker Life Committee and the Diversity, Equity and Justice Committee. Formerly, the Quaker Life Committee’s mission was to increase understanding of the Religious Society of Friends and Friends education among faculty, staff, parents, Board and students through speakers, events and professional development opportunities. The former Diversity, Equity, Justice Committee, which was open to everyone in the FSA community (parents, students, faculty and alums), and to address as a community goals of diversity, equity and racial justice.
