Learning Support
The Friends School of Atlanta is an inclusive community that values neurodiversity as a strength. We support students with identified learning needs—including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, attentional differences, anxiety and autism spectrum disorder, level 1—and design instruction that meets students where they are.
We are not able to serve students who require extensive one-to-one support throughout the school day for academic, behavioral, or emotional needs. To ensure all students are well supported, we build balanced classrooms and limit the number of students with above-average support needs in each section.
How we work
Teachers partner with our learning specialists, counselor, and division heads in weekly team meetings to review student progress and plan classroom-level strategies. Instruction emphasizes clear routines, explicit teaching, and opportunities for inquiry and reflection.
